Victims of Arpaio and Speak out about Joe Arpaio’s Pardon

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin – two victims of Joe Arpaio, the ex-Sheriff of Maricopa County recently shared their thoughts of the Sheriff’s pardoning.

Joe Arpaio was convicted on charges of criminal contempt of court in the Summer of 2017. The event was believed to be the culmination of a decade long legal battle to put Joe Arpaio behind bars, but it turned out citizens would not see justice served. Arpaio’s charges stem from an incident in 2007 with a Mexican tourist. Arpaio arrested the Mexican tourist and then admitted to doing so for no reason other than racial profiling. This lead to a judge order that instructed Arpaio to no longer enforce immigration law. Arpaio ignored the instructions and continued his actions anyway. He was charged with criminal contempt of court.

“This is the perfect marriage of two corrupt individuals,” Michael Lacey declared. “[Arpaio advertised torture and racism,” Lacey added.

As previously mentioned, Lacey and Larkin are the victims of Joe Arpaio. Joe Arpaio had them arrested for the content they were publishing in their newspaper. The result of Arpaio’s frivolous efforts was a 3.75 million dollar settlement in favor of Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin.

Jim Larkin admitted that their writings were a thorn in the side of Joe Arpaio and attributes it to the reason they were arrested. Along with Michael Lacey, they made generous efforts to educate the Arizona population about Arpaio’s illegal actions.

Now that Joe Arpaio is pardoned, he is free to continue his career in politics. Joe Arpaio is now pursuing a seat in the U.S. Congress, and Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are continuing their fight against him within the pages of Front Page Confidential, their newest publication.

Due to the terror caused by Joe Arpaio, Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have began a charitable organization called The Frontera Fund. This charitable fundraising organization works to give back to the individuals that Joe Arpaio harmed during his 24 year tenure as sheriff. They primarily work to assist other charities that support the Hispanic community.
