Peter Briger: Leading the Financial World to New Heights

Peter Briger is currently the Co-chairman and Principal of one of the largest asset management companies in the world, Fortress Investment Group. He began his immaculate career after graduating from Princeton University in 1986 and then later his Masters in Business Administration from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Goldman Sachs was quick to hire him after seeing his financial skills and talent.

Peter Briger stayed at Goldman Sachs for fifteen years where he became a Partner and was featured as number 962 on Forbes Billionaires list in 2008. He earned his wealth after spending only four years at the Hedge fund company. Peter was involved in Fortress Investment Group’s sale to Softbank, which was sold for over $8 a share in 2017. Softbank owns 100% of Fortress Investment Group, which has also decided to sell its Indian Internet sales platform, Flipkart to Walmart for $16 billion.

Peter Briger is also on various Boards of Directors including CNBC, Center for New American Security and Tipping Point Community. He was elected to the role of Co-Chairman in 2009 and is responsible for its credit and real estate divisions. As a patriotic American and resident of San Francisco Peter Briger is dedicated to his city. He has joined the non-profit organization, Tipping Point to serve the low income residents and families of San Francisco.

Fortress Investment Group currently manages over $70 billion in assets and includes a diverse range of companies in its portfolio. These include its purchase of RailAmerica Inc., Intrawest, AMREESCO and many others. His talent and vast experience has helped Peter earn him the top spot at Fortress Investment Group where he aims to grow its portfolios.
